Why ITSO is Heading to Time for Trams 2026: Accelerating Integrated Mobility

As the UK looks to transform its urban mobility landscape, the team at ITSO is excited to announce our attendance as delegates at the inaugural Time for Trams 2026 conference on Thursday, 24 September 2026, held at The TechnoCentre in Coventry.

Organised by Landor LINKS and the Tram Network, the Time for Trams 2026 event comes at a crucial turning point for UK light rail and integrated transport. With local authorities and mayoral regions striving to deliver high-capacity, zero-emission transit solutions faster and more affordably, seamless ticketing and interoperability are central to making these networks work for passengers.

What we are looking forward to at Time for Trams 2026

The conference session "Advancing Integrated & Multi-Modal Travel"  focusing on “How tram complements, not competes with, buses”.  An integrated urban transport network ties directly into ITSO’s core mission. We support passengers to travel with confidence using smartcards and digital tickets, while giving operators and authorities a trusted national framework that works across services and technologies. By enabling systems to work together, ITSO helps deliver smoother journeys, better insight and long-term value for the whole transport network.

A world-class light rail network needs smart, frictionless ticketing that connects seamlessly across bus, rail, and tram services - ensuring a smooth door-to-door passenger journey.

Networking and Connecting with Transport Leaders

With political leaders, regional mayors, transport authorities, and delivery specialists in attendance, Time for Trams offers an ideal forum to discuss how smart ticketing standards can support regional devolution and empower local transport bodies.

We’re eager to connect with fellow transport planners, local authority leaders, tech innovators, and operators during the event. Whether you're exploring smart ticketing integration for a new light rail project or looking to enhance multi-modal connectivity across your existing network, we’d love to connect.
