Driving Smart, Connected Bus Travel: ITSO at Quality Bus 2026

Bus networks across the UK are undergoing significant change. Delivering high-quality, seamless passenger experiences has never been more vital - and ITSO plays a critical role in supporting transport authorities and operators through this transition. By providing the open standards and smart ticketing framework needed for reliable, multi-operator connectivity, we help ensure these regulatory shifts lead to effortless journeys for passengers.

ITSO are pleased to announce our attendance at Quality Bus 2026 as delegates on 11–12 November 2026 at The Albert Hall in Nottingham.

As bus networks across the UK undergo significant changes - from franchising developments and regional devolution to enhanced partnerships - delivering high-quality, seamless passenger experiences has never been more vital. Produced by Landor LINKS and the Bus Centre of Excellence, this premier event takes place on 11–12 November 2026 at The Albert Hall in Nottingham.

Why Quality Bus 2026 Matters

Quality Bus brings together local authorities, transport operators, service providers, and policymakers to share best practice and shape the future of bus travel. For ITSO, the core themes of the event directly mirror our commitment to supporting sustainable, accessible, and connected public transport.

We are looking forward to discussing and exploring frictionless and integrated ticketing. With cities and regions striving to boost bus patronage, simple and intuitive ticketing is key. We’ll be discussing how the ITSO Specification enables multi-operator interoperability and effortless transfers across buses, trams, and rail.

As local transport authorities take on greater control over network planning and fare structures, robust ticketing frameworks are essential. We’re eager to explore how open standards help authorities deliver consistent passenger experiences under new governance models.

A "Quality Bus" network relies on reliable technology infrastructure behind the scenes. We look forward to exchanging ideas on how smart ticketing data and integration help deliver faster boarding, reduced dwell times, and clearer passenger insights.

"As the UK bus sector navigates franchising and regional devolution, ITSO provides the trusted smart ticketing foundation that helps authorities and operators deliver frictionless, multi-modal journeys through times of major change."
