Season tickets for Nottingham’s tram network go ‘smart’

2 August 2017

Season tickets for Nottingham’s tram network will go ‘smart’ when they make the switch to the Robin Hood Card.

Nottingham Express Transit (NET) tram customers who renew their season tickets from Monday 7 August will see their usual passes replaced with an ITSO Robin Hood smart card.

Carrying exactly the same travel options and savings as NET’s existing season tickets, the card is to be used by touching on at a tram stop validator before boarding.

Stephanie Moss-Pearce, NET’s Marketing Manager, said: “Switching to the Robin Hood Card will help make the renewal process much easier for our regular season ticket customers.

“There’ll now be no need for customers to obtain a new pass every time they renew their season ticket. They can simply load a new season ticket onto the Robin Hood Card via on-street Robin Hood ticket machines, at the NET Travel Centre or at The Nottingham City Council Travel Centre.

“Customers with a pass that is not due to expire shortly, don’t need to worry about the change just yet. We will be in touch with them with more information in due course.”

When customers initially renew and make the switch they can pick up their new card from the NET Travel Centre on King Street, or receive it in the post if they order online.

Customers should note that they won’t be able to initially pick up their new Robin Hood Card from the Nottingham City Council Travel Centre in the Victoria Bus Station, but will be able to renew their season ticket at this location once they have the card.

With a number of different ticket options available, NET is also reminding customers of the great savings they can make by purchasing a one, three or twelve month season pass for the network.
