Passengers trial the first multi-modal ITSO on Mobile scheme
Yotra Ltd is pleased to announce that for the first time, ITSO on Mobile® is available for passengers in the West Midlands to use on all three modes of public transport - bus, rail and tram.
Transport for West Midlands, pioneers of the first ITSO on Mobile® solution are extending their Swift on mobile ticketing scheme to bus operators, allowing passengers to add bus travel to their Google Pay wallet in addition to their tram and rail travel.
Swift was the first scheme in the UK to partner with Yotra and Google to add Swift products directly onto mobile phones. ITSO on Mobile®, in partnership with Google Pay, enables passengers to purchase, fulfil and use tickets on their mobile phones. Purchased ITSO tickets are securely delivered within seconds directly to the Google Pay digital wallet on the phone.
The solution offers commuters convenience and flexibility and using the global Google Pay wallet, delivers a seamless customer experience.
Swift will initially offer the nNetwork tickets to their Direct Debit passengers for use on all bus, rail and Metro services in the West Midlands Network, delivered from 27 different operators.
Matthew Lewis, Head of Swift: “We are excited to be introducing ticketing on Android smartphones with Google Pay and Yotra to a wider group of customers in the West Midlands following the successful rollout live onto West Midlands Metro, and into Pilot on the rail network. We are always looking to introduce innovative technology that makes travelling by public transport easier for customers and this partnership between Swift, Google and Yotra provides the ultimate customer experience which will help us in our efforts to encourage people to use sustainable transport modes.”
