Dundee makes the smart move
More bus passengers in Dundee can do away with paper tickets and move to an ITSO smartcard.
Xplore Dundee’s now got a wider range of fares available on its MyXplore card, including Day Savers, Weekly Savers and 4 Week Savers. It means adults, students and under-19s can all access the simplicity and security of travelling with a smartcard.
Managing Director Christine McGlasson said: “Our MyXplore card is a popular method of travel for many people – it’s cashless, it can be topped up on the bus and means there’s less risk of losing a fiddly paper ticket.
“Now we’re offering an even bigger range of fares on smartcard I’d encourage people to give it a try as it’s one of the quickest and easiest ways to travel.”
MyXplore smartcards must be registered first at Xplore Dundee’s Travel Centre in Commercial Street, then can be topped up on the bus for subsequent journeys.
Young people can load smart tickets onto their YoungScot card, which means their ID can double up as their bus pass. These identification cards are free and easy to get hold of from www.young.scot. Students who choose to use a separate MyXplore card will be asked to produce a valid college or university matriculation card, with their photo and the expiry date clearly displayed.
