Nexus: 24 February: Metro Gold Card cost to be cut. The cost of the Gold Card is to be reduced from £25 to £12 from 1st April now that it is a smart product which can be loaded onto the ITSO-compliant ENCTS card.
Office of Rail Regulation: 20 February: ORR launches ticket market review. The Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) has launched a review of the rail ticketing market to understand whether arrangements for selling rail tickets are encouraging innovation and competition to the benefit of passengers.
Government: 18 February: First Capital Connect extension deal agreed. The Department for Transport has agreed a deal with First Capital Connect to continue running its services in the South East for a further six months, prior to the start of the new Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern franchise in September, for which First has submitted a bid.
FutureRailway: 17 February: Launch of £2 million competition to reduce ticket barrier congestion. Proposed solutions must fit in with the DfT's vision for ticketing, focussed on ITSO.
