The Hub Company

The Hub Company joined ITSO in April 2013 to work more closely with both operators and systems integrators to deliver a new and future proofed smart ticketing retail solution.

The company was founded in 1995 as a multi-channel ecommerce solutions provider and to develop a Software as a Service (SaaS) business model.

Related to transit, The Hub platform is configured to integrate with any operator ticketing engine and remotely manage the delivery of end2end smart ticketing and payment solutions.

In 2004 The Hub was appointed by National Express to source, assemble, install and manage their UK coach division self-service ticketing network. This network continues to grow.

In 2005 The Hub became the first UK ticket vending machine (TVM) solution provider to take unattended card payments. This includes an accreditation by Streamline and the acquiring banks with their EMV card associations such as MasterCard and Visa.

In 2011 The Hub became the first, and currently only, smart card issuance platform integrated with MasterCard’s Mobile Over The Air Provisioning Service (MOTAPS). As a result The Hub is now able to securely personalise and instantly issue not only smart tickets but smart payment form factors, ie cards and mobiles.
