Interoperable Fare Management Project
ITSO is the coordinator for the Interoperable Fare Management Project. The objective of the IFM Project is to provide travellers with shared types of contactless media throughout Europe. These can be used for multiple transport products (tickets) in different geographic areas and for sustainable modal switching, such as the use of Park-and-Ride.
The project was launched in January 2008 and it is co-funded by the European Commission under the 7th Community Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development and DG INFSO under the IST Programme, ICT for Transport.
The document published below with the permission of the IFM Forum outlines common requirements and recommendations on interoperable media and multi-application management.
