The e+ smartcard is a wallet-sized plastic card with an electronic chip able to store vast amounts of information. It can be used in many different ways and places throughout Bracknell Forest.
Bracknell Forest Council has pioneered the use of smartcard technology and is developing the e+ card to make providing services for people who live and work in or visit the Borough easier, faster and simpler.
The e+ card can offer many uses and benefits:
- Library card,
- Leisure card,
- Concessionary bus pass,
- Proof of age,
- Smarter shopping (online directory for participating partners),
- Identification for BFC My Choice - Choice Based Lettings for those on housing lists
This is a useful example of a proprietary scheme working in conjunction with the ITSO specification in order to provide a multi-product customer media platform.
