Only equipment certified by ITSO may be used within the ITSO environment.

A certificate issued by ITSO gives assurance on interoperability and security. It shows that the functionality of the item submitted has been tested by ITSO and conforms to the Specification version current at the time of testing; it also confirms it can interoperate with other equipment. Certificates are valid for a certain period, to assure that newer equipment is backward-compatible with older versions.

ITSO provides Certificates for three types of equipment/systems: Customer Media (CM), Point-of-Service Terminals (POSTs) and Host Operator Processing Systems (HOPS).

The certificates list below provides downloadable copies of currently valid Certificates of Compliance awarded by ITSO. The list is broken down by Category and sorted by Organisation name in alphabetical order.

Customer Media (CM)

* CMD1 and CMD3 are being phased out of the ITSO Environment. As such no CMD1 or CMD3 may be issued after 31 December 2009 and support for these media will be withdrawn from the ITSO Specification after 31 December 2016. Approvals

ITSO provide a level of approval below full Certification, known as "Approval". ITSO CM Approval is designed to give comfort to ITSO members who wish to assess and source their media from a pre-approved list.

What is the difference between the Approval of cards, and the Certification of cards?
ITSO Licensed Operators are required by their Licence only to issue ITSO Certified Media. ITSO Approved Media must have successfully completed Certification before being issued by ITSO Licensed Operators.

Approval involves the ITSO Certification & Test Service adding a sample ITSO shell and product (normally IPE TYP2 STR) to the blank customer media submitted by a supplier for testing, and then validating that the Shell has been successfully loaded, using the ITSO Test Tool. Certification takes this a number of steps further: the blank media is tested both for loading and reading/deleting the ITSO Shell and all relevant IPEs, and using all the relevant POSTs in the Interoperability Warehouse.

For other equipment (POST and HOPS) Sub-assemblies, Approval is given to allow Organisations to provide sub-assemblies intended for incorporation in other equipment. The certificate will identify the nature of the sub-assembly interface in a Schedule.
