Burall InfoSmart

Burall InfoSmart Ltd is pleased to have been involved with ITSO ever since its inception.
Having participated in the DfT Transport Card Forum for many years, InfoSmart was present at all the early discussions, which led eventually to the formation of ITSO.
InfoSmart then joined the group of early adopter companies, which gradually metamorphosed into I2F. It still regularly attends both I2F and Supplier meetings.
In 2005, InfoSmart became the only company to have had both software (PERSO POST) and customer media certified and/or approved.
Working with Wayfarer Transit Systems, InfoSmart issued the first large tranche of cards for the NoWcard project. In due course, these cards will be upgraded to full ITSO compliance in the field.
The first step along this road was the Blazefield trial, conducted on a route operating between Bolton and Blackburn. Using National Smart Card Project cards, programmed by software supplied by InfoSmart, this proved that ITSO and citizen applications could co-exist.
In a similar vein, InfoSmart is a partner in the Southampton Smart Bus project, which again aims to unite transport and local authority applications in one card, issued by the local city council. The transport element is mandated to be ITSO-compliant.
InfoSmart continues to support ITSO and follow its development with interest. As a supplier of many years' standing to TfL (via the Prestige project), InfoSmart keenly awaits the establishment of a modus vivendi between the ITSO standard and Oystercard.
InfoSmart also looks forward to the inclusion of new form factors.
It launched its revolutionary combination of photo ID and contactless card, iGo, at the Cartes exhibition in Paris in 2005. This unites high-security visual and photo ID with groundbreaking iLam technology, to produce a two-part travel document, operating in contactless mode.
